An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Critical Care Unit at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 5 Staff Nurse. Applications are welcomed from Adult trained nurses with appropriate experience in Critical Care.
The post involves providing safe quality care to patients requiring High Dependency and Intensive Care to Paediatric patients 0-16 years. This is a very rewarding opportunity to work within an MDT providing excellence and the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and skills.
The postholder will be a key member of the PCCU Team. PCCU works collaboratively as a multidisciplinary team, internal and external to the organisation, to facilitate holistic seamless care delivery for all Trust patients. Nursing care of children aged 0-16 (and occasionally young people up to 18 years) requiring general acute/chronic/critical care in an identified clinical ward or department.
As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will be able to work within a team, have good decision-making skills, and be able to use your own initiative. You will share the trust values and vision and be committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Main Duties of the Job
As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating and providing skilled nursing (without direct supervision) to patients, in accordance with responsibilities under the NMC code of conduct.
You will be able to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for an allocated patient group, considering individual needs, using prioritisation and delegation skills. You will also be an advocate for the patient and contribute to the continuing development of nursing, including the supervision of junior nurses and support staff.

Qualifications and Training
* Degree or Diploma Level Education as Registered Nurse (RN Child or RN Adult)
* Current registration with NMC
* Teaching, mentoring, and assessors qualification
* Relevant post-basic registration course
Experience
* Ability to demonstrate a commitment to professional development
* Post-registration experience in paediatric speciality
* Adult or Paediatric Critical Care experience
Knowledge and Skills
* Role of Staff Nurse
* Accountability and own limitations
