Customer Service Specialist
Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £16 umbrella an hour (£13 PAYE an hour)
Location: Taunton
Somerset Council is looking for a Customer Service Specialist to join their Lifeline Team. This will be to cover shifts on a 24/7 rota, with an enhanced rate payable for hours between 8pm and 6am.
Responsibilities:
1. Respond to all contacts from Somerset Council, including safeguarding for Adults and Children, and take relevant details to pass onto a colleague within the Customer Contact Team.
2. Assess the needs of each contact through active listening, questioning, and some scripts to provide the necessary information, guidance, support, or services.
3. Record in the appropriate system all customer data and service requirements, and where required, work-flow to the appropriate individual or team.
4. Review information held on systems and/or website to identify accurate information.
Requirements:
1. Experience of working in a customer service environment or call centre.
2. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
3. Ability to work as part of a team or under own direction.
