This is a fulltime, permanent post of 37 hours per week. The shift pattern for Community CAMHS Teams is Monday-Friday 09.00-17.00 however we are willing to discuss the flexibility around your own shift pattern to meet team’s needs.
We are looking for a full time Band 4 Health Care Support Worker to join Specialist Children’s Services at North CAMHS - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service community team based at Woodside Health and Care Centre. The post holder will contribute support to all clinicians within the team including nursing, AHPs and Clinical Psychology. The post holder will support with both individual and groupwork, following through episodes of care, clinics for physical observations, venepuncture and short pieces of specific supervised intervention with both children and young people or their parent/carer. You may also support with aspects of neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention under supervision.
Participation in regular supervision with a designated member of the CAMHS team will be in place. We are looking for someone who demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to work using own initiative alongside clinical guidance and supervision to carry out agreed pieces of work. You should have a positive attitude towards children and young people and some knowledge of factors which impact on mental health and emotional well-being. An ability to fulfil main duties and responsibilities as outlined in band 4 job description. You should have the ability to function competently as a member of the multi-disciplinary and multiagency team and have knowledge of factors that impact on mental health and emotional wellbeing.
The team provide community-based tier 3 NHS specialist mental health assessment and intervention based on the principles of equality, dignity and respect and which takes into account spiritual and cultural diversity. Within CAMHS we have robust CAMHS training and development programme and encourage all staff to participate in ongoing learning.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.
