About the Role
As an MOT Tester, you’ll use your skills and experience to ensure that vehicles meet road safety standards through comprehensive MOT testing. You’ll also assist in the workshop with light vehicle maintenance when you’re not conducting tests, making you an integral part of our team’s success. What We’re Looking For:
* MOT Testing Licence: A current, valid MOT Testing Licence
* Full UK Driving Licence: With no more than 9 points
* Team Player: Willing to assist in the workshop with light vehicle maintenance when needed
* Attention to Detail: Ability to follow compliance standards and ensure vehicles meet safety regulations
Key Responsibilities
MOT Testing
* Conduct MOT tests in line with DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) guidelines to ensure vehicles meet road safety and environmental standards.
* Perform thorough inspections, identifying and reporting any issues that affect a vehicle's safety or compliance.
Vehicle Maintenance Support
* Assist the workshop team with light vehicle maintenance and repairs when not conducting MOT tests.
* Help with general servicing tasks such as tyre changes, brake checks, and fluid top-ups as needed.
Compliance and Safety Standards
* Follow strict testing procedures and maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ensure that all MOT tests and any related maintenance activities comply with legal and company regulations.
* Keep up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and any changes to MOT testing requirements.
Customer Service
* Communicate clearly with customers about the results of their MOT tests, explaining any issues found and the necessary steps for repairs.
* Offer expert advice and provide a professional service experience to maintain customer satisfaction and trust.
Team Collaboration and Flexibility
* Work as part of a collaborative workshop team, offering support where required to help meet business needs.
* Be adaptable and willing to step in for additional duties, including part-time options or as a sole MOT Tester if needed.
