Role: Business Development Manager
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 + Car Allowance (£8,000) + Bonus (through generous Profit Share Scheme) + Benefits

Ideally, you will come from a merchant trade sales background, selling a range of building products into the independent and bigger player space. You should be familiar with this sales process. If you have direct builders merchant or plumbing merchant experience, that will be a bonus. Experience being out on the road is essential.
For the right person, progression is very realistic; this business will develop and grow talent.
Key Objectives:
1. Managing key accounts, developing existing & new customers, and driving local market penetration.
2. Identify, target, and develop sales opportunities for assigned products within the regional market sectors.
3. Assume responsibility for achieving sales budgets of assigned products within applicable territory and provide expert knowledge and support to customers, assisting in securing sales opportunities.
4. Monitor and review sales & margin across region & products, addressing shortfalls and areas of concern while highlighting areas of opportunity to the business.
5. Undertake product demonstrations & staff training across the merchant product range.
6. Influence and promote sales during face-to-face meetings with customers.
7. Research new opportunities and keep up to date with the market and competitor products.
8. Establish, maintain, and expand your customer base.
9. Meet the monthly/quarterly sales plan goals set for your area.
10. Responsible for achieving sales & margin budget as part of the overall business budget.
11. Ensure all KPIs as per merchant plan are achieved.
Key Competencies:
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
2. Persistent, ambitious, and have a strong drive for success.
3. Can interface with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word & CRM systems.
4. Must be professional, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
5. Knowledge of building, plumbing, and heating products is desirable.
6. Able to manage own time and diary with honesty and integrity.
Overall, you must be sales-focused and not afraid to make a cold call. Along with the development of existing accounts, we are seeking someone to open up new ones.
