Description Volunteers are vital in helping to ensure that our hospices run effectively. We are looking for volunteers to support with the day to day running of the Wellbeing and Support Hub within the hospice as well as providing a welcoming environment for our patients and their families. What you will be doing: Your role might include some of the following: Complete tasks using various computer programmes including Microsoft Office. Call patients and carers to offer the wellbeing and support hub services Handle incoming phone calls politely and taking and relaying messages where appropriate. Maintain confidentiality regarding patient details and hospice records. Help with communications between families and staff. Arrange transport for patients if required. Help with other related tasks when necessary Updating patient and carers records Assessing patient and carers needs and highlight any concerns Collaborate closely with the wellbeing and Support staff What we are looking for: What we are looking for: Good people skills – friendly outgoing and confident Good computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases Good communication and listening skills Can volunteer independently Clear and polite phone manner Good literacy and numeracy A commitment to high standards and the provision of excellent service A reliable and responsible attitude An understanding of the importance of confidentiality Empathy and an understanding of the needs of those affected by end-of-life care.
