For nearly 75 years, Leonard Cheshire has worked directly with disabled people to support them to live their lives the way they choose with the opportunity to fully take part in society. Today, our 4,000 staff provide social care services support to help over 2,000 disabled people across the UK. We are one of the largest charities in the UK, providing care and key support services to disabled people. We also advocate and campaign for structural change to legislation in support of disabled people’s basic rights. We are in the middle of a turnaround plan that is delivering positive results but there is still an enormous amount of work to do to deliver an organisation and service offering fit for the decades ahead against a changing market for our services. The Charity has significant cash in the bank to allow for our turnaround plans to be delivered and provide a platform for the future. We are actively working with our customers to reshape our service offering and see this as bringing positive results for our service users. It is a great time to be part of Leonard Cheshire. We now require a new Chief Financial Officer to join us to help drive us forward and bring a transformative impact in our finance team and the Charity as a whole. We are reverting to our core business of providing accommodation for severely physically disabled people but in new and innovative forms. Alongside our CEO you will play a key role in delivering our turnaround plan and achieving the best outcomes for the people we support. This is a significant leadership role in both scale and remit. We are looking for a new permanent Chief Financial Officer who can clearly demonstrate that they have had the experience in delivering financial and commercial transformation in an environment experiencing similar challenges. Ideally you will have a breadth of experience across finance, legal, IT and property. You will lead the transformation of the Finance function to ensure that Leonard Cheshire has a highly effective team and operates an exemplary financial control environment. You will also need to be advocate for the Charity with external and regulatory bodies, working alongside our CEO. Importantly, you will have a passion for and commitment to the values and ethos of Leonard Cheshire. You will be a fully qualified accountant with strong financial management experience and have been involved in setting up or re-engineering and running of finance systems and processes. You will also have experience of managing and developing staff, excellent interpersonal skills, be customer and solution-orientated and be willing to undertake travel within the UK. Leonard Cheshire is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all our activities, and we welcome and encourage candidates from under-represented groups to consider applying for this opportunity.
