We are looking for an Obsolescence Manager to join our Christchurch, Dorset team!
As an Obsolescence Manager for our Christchurch location, you will be establishing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers of main source and end of life / obsolescent stock. Planning and supervising the rolling review updates of product BoMs in a third party tool which helps us monitor obsolescence status.

Your Challenge
* In the 1-3 year time frame, the role will grow to become team leader of an Obsolescence team consisting of Obsolescence Manager plus 2 team members.
* Planning and Supervising the rolling review updates of product BoMs in a third party tool which helps us monitor obsolescence status. A pro-active activity.
* Managing the Life Cycle Alerts from third party tool and/or obsolescence issues generated from the AVS procurement team.
* Managing/Planning of Equivalent/Alternative component investigations.
* Liasing with PMO (Project Management Office) on potential engineering re-design work, if that is needed to deal with an obsolescence issue.
* Establishing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers of main source and end of life / obsolescent stock.
* Contributing to the AVS business task to create a TLCM (Total Life Cycle Management) function to cover all AVS products, including component parts/sub-assemblies sourced from other CW business units. After creation, coordinating that function.
* Supporting the new business bid team regarding the obsolescence impact on new bids and also offering TLCM as part of bids.
* Managing customer TLCM Programmes, including Obsolescence Plans and Reports.
* Managing the technical transfer of the legacy AVS product portfolio to third party companies.
What You Bring
* Must be organized and have advanced multi-tasking skills. More so than having excellent engineering skills.
* Must have experience of an electronic engineering environment.
* Christchurch based because of the relationships that need to be established with those outside of AVS Engineering, who are Christchurch based.
* Level 3 or above qualification level.
