Senior Credit Risk Analyst
Location: London, Bradford, Chatham or Petersfield
We are happy for you to be based in Bradford, Chatham or Petersfield but please note that occasional travel will be required to our other offices
Working Pattern: Our working style is hybrid, but we recognise the importance of collaborative working with our colleagues often 1 to 3 days per week in one of our offices

You and Your Team:
The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will use data driven insights to develop, implement and optimise Acquisition Strategies for VBG
In your day-to-day role, as a Senior Analyst you will:
1. Develop accurate, statistically validated credit risk models while supporting all aspects of the agreed model build, validation and governance process
2. Evaluate the quality of the data, and communicate any issues with interpretation of subsequent analyses
3. Support research for potentially new credit risk modelling improvements, regulatory recommendations and techniques
4. Evaluate the business impact of proposed new model implementations through sensitivity analysis of parameters used in capital calculations
5. Support the regular reporting and monitoring required ensuring that all models remain appropriate for the portfolio
6. Support the team when preparing for the internal approval of credit risk models.
7. Support the team to ensure that the model and all impacts of model developments / changes are fully documented, communicated, understood, aligned and approved by the impacted Business Units and Heads of Risk.
8. Participate in Credit Risk Modelling governance and technical forums where required.
9. Adhere to the FCA Senior Manager Conduct rules
Knowledge and expertise:
10. Exceptional quantitative skills including credit analytics
11. Practical application of statistical modelling techniques
12. Evaluation of data quality
13. Development of new credit risk modelling improvements, regulatory recommendations and techniques
14. Experienced in consumer credit, preferably in the sub-prime or online lending sector
15. Experience of corporate governance frameworks
16. Coding expertise or other transferable skills
What will make you stand out:
17. Practical application of statistical modelling techniques
18. Strong communication skills and technical capability
19. Experience of using SAS/SQL/R or other data mining skills
20. Strong Microsoft Office skills e.g. excel, word, power point and access
21. Proven ability to effectively plan and organise work effectively and prioritise deadlines whilst working at a fast pace.
22. Knowledge of IFRS9
23. Knowledge of forecasting in a credit risk environment
The interview process:
24. Up to 30minute telephone call with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
25. Up to 60 mins with the hiring team – Competency based
26. Final interview with Daniel Betts (Head of Credit Risk)
