We are recruiting a Vehicle Maintenance Fitter at Caerphilly County Borough Council. Working hours: 37 Hours Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time Location: Tir y berth Depot This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Green Spaces and Transport Services Team. We pay an attractive salary of £34,314 - £37,035 and offer access to training and development opportunities. As an HGV Technician, you’ll play a key part in keeping some of the council’s biggest specialist fleet brands on the road, responsible for conducting MOT preparations, inspections, maintenance, repair, and servicing of our customers’ fleets. You will be required to Inspect and maintain Authority’s fleet of vehicles, hired vehicles, plant and equipment; and to undertake all mechanical and electrical repairs to DVSA and manufactures standards in line with Council’s policies and the guide to maintaining road worthiness. Repair and maintain the Authority’s refuse vehicles, sweepers and gritting vehicles including all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, in accordance with the manufactures recommendations. Work to schedule of rates contract times and record all necessary documentation required in line with the Authority’s procedures. For the role, we ask that you have: Relevant Knowledge of HGV MOT standards. A Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods maintenance. A Proven record of working on HGV vehicles, light commercials and working with municipal vehicles.
