The Role: The Enterprise Applications Director has overall responsibility for planning, directing and coordinating activities pertaining to application technology in the enabling functions and business unit projects. The role is responsible for managing the team that delivers all internal IT and business change projects as well as managing and supporting the Landsec portfolio of applications. This includes ensuring that our strategic application vendors and managed services are led effectively. The role will also drive the successful transition of Application related projects into BAU operations. The role focuses on different parts of the Landsec business, to one team that will be responsible for all business areas. The aim of the new team is to build upon the current capabilities and deliver an enhanced offering through better sharing of knowledge and expertise, as well as offering a simpler structure for the business to understand and engage with. Guidance and management of the Application Management team. Establish team goals and operating procedures. Develop team skills, identifying and retaining high performers and working with team to ensure everyone has a clear progression plan. Reorganise the teams if necessary to create a fit for purpose function Manage relationships with the Landsec business and foster a culture of partnership. Management delivery of technology and business programmes to meet organisational demand. Successful transition of technology and business programmes into BAU operational support. What you will be responsible for: Understand technology and industry market trends and see their potential impact on Landsec. Develop a programme to nurture the capability of industry trends to support business growth Manage the Application Management operating budget. Drive down operating costs by challenging sourcing models and diligent vendor management. The IS function should be efficient, cost effective and transparent Work closely with other members of the IS Management team to ensure that activities remain closely integrated in terms of goals, approach, strategies and timing. A strong relationship with the Infrastructure Services team is needed to support existing applications and to implement and transition new and upgraded applications into service As a member of the Senior Management Team within IS, contribute to strategy of the IS function Forge strong relationships with all business areas, publicising the team’s successes and ensuring that service levels are optimised and project demand is managed. Be visible, getting out to meet the various business stakeholders regularly Use technology innovatively to enhance business value. Identify opportunities and market trends and convert them into new services to meet business objectives Ensure appropriate contracts are in place with all service providers and ensure that all external work is conducted within a clear contractual framework Ensure governance procedures are adhered to, recommending and implementing changes as necessary Ensure that the Landsec business staff are adequately trained in order to maximise the value of the technology deployed Exhibit a commitment to the company’s core values Your skills, experience and qualifications: Essential criteria Have proven success in working with complex problems, defining hypothesis, creating MVPs, running experiments and analysing results to drive data-driven decisions Proven capability with vendor / product selection from conception to go-live, with measurable success across defined KPIs Contributing to technology vision, strategy, and roadmap to enable Landsec’s digital business transformation ambitions. Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Application Management best practice, methodologies and transition into operational support with strong technical acumen Strong operational reporting capability with a lens on the colleague experience of consuming applications Shown significant improvement in your product KPIs and helped a team set KPIs for new/ other products Effectively worked with senior stakeholders outside of your immediate product team to gather feedback and deliver continuous improvement Proven experience of leading technical transformation projects and acceptance into production support Experience of delivering hybrid working excellence with Enterprise Applications to improve customer and user experience Budget planning and financial management experience Life and Benefits at Landsec We have a great benefits package, there to support you with your work-life balance and in moments that matter.
