Our client is a 3-form entry primary located in FY4 Blackpool. This is an inclusive primary with a nursery provision attached and a nest for SEND pupils. They offer education from 0-11 across a range of needs. This school strives to be a part of the community, offering a new mums coffee club and support in early childhood with babies' development and parent wellbeing. This school supports accessibility to resources for all and has developed in modern ways, which is reflected in their school building with the incorporation of new facilities and classrooms that complement the bones of the school.
They are currently seeking a qualified early years practitioner or level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant to support in their nursery provision Monday - Friday 12-3. You will be supporting a child 1:1 who has SEMH needs. Ideally, you will be familiar with these needs, consistent in your attendance, committed to the role, and able to offer a safe, warm, and welcoming environment for the child to feel comfortable in learning. The role is to start as soon as possible pending safeguarding checks/DBS and will continue until April 2025, with a review to extend until July 2025. This role will pay GBP13.50 - GBP14.50 per hour based on your experience/qualification. All roles are temporary ad hoc supply.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support pupils with their learning in 1:1 groups.
2. Collaborate with the class teacher regarding targets and expectations.
3. Provide a safe learning environment.
4. Encourage pupil growth both academically, personally, and socially.
5. Liaise with other professionals within the school, e.g., teachers, TAs, specialist support staff.
6. Support the monitoring and tracking of all pupils in line with the assessment procedures in school.
7. Help support the class teacher with IEPs or EHCPs.
8. Communicate with parents or carers about pupil progress.
9. Be consistent and committed to the role.
Essential Requirements:
1. Must be an outgoing individual with an ability to engage with pupils to have FUN while learning.
2. Must be able to work collaboratively and competently within a team.
3. An understanding of SEN or learning needs.
4. Level 2 or 3 qualification as a TA.
5. EYFS Practitioner or EYFS qualification.
6. Previous experience in an early years or 1:1 education setting.
Desirable Requirements:
1. Knowledge of the new KS1 and KS2 curriculum.
2. Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
