Hardware Dev Engineer, Ring PD team

We are looking for a talented and motivated Hardware Product Design Engineer (BS minimum) to develop new products together with the Ring Product Design team. A successful candidate must show strong analytical and communication skills, ready to drive, analyze and dive deep into all sections of HW design. Experience in designing consumer electronics products is required. Must be comfortable exploring a variety of concepts and dealing with ambiguity during development.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Generate concepts and mechanical designs of new products with ID team
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
3. Partner with PM teams on product requirements
4. Manage and drive vendors for project finalization
5. Generate functional prototypes and be hands-on with them
6. Clearly and concisely express and document ideas, issues, test results, etc.
7. Develop documentation to transfer to vendors (CAD, detailed drawings, optical simulations, etc.)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BS/MS in Mechanical/Optical Engineering
Extensive industry design experience
Experience in consumer electronics product development, plastic/diecast/sheet metal parts design
Experience with optical-related designs like camera lens implementation, illumination, etc.
Experience with thermodynamics, especially for consumer or computer hardware.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes for metals and commonly used plastics
Quick prototyping skills
GD&T based on ISO or ASME standard.
Must have a strong work ethic and good written and verbal communication skills
Experienced CAD user (Creo/SolidWorks)
Experienced PLM system user
Good written and spoken English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to interpret simulation results, such as thermal, optical & deformation analysis.
