My client, a leader in telecommunications and defense technology, is seeking an Electronics Design & PCB Layout Engineer to join their experienced engineering team. You will work on innovative RF products, taking responsibility for analogue and digital circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout. This is a key role ensuring that designs meet electrical performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with RF engineers to design and layout electronic circuits incorporating mixed technologies for telecommunications and defense products.
2. Design and layout:
1. Low voltage module power supplies (linear and switch mode PSUs).
2. Component bias circuits.
3. Analogue circuits (signal conditioning, filters, op-amps).
4. Digital circuits using glue logic, ADCs, DACs & microprocessors.
3. Perform detailed analogue and digital circuit specification, design, component selection, and circuit simulation.
4. Define circuit board requirements, including materials and layer stack-up.
5. Generate schematics and complete PCB layouts, following best practice design flow procedures, including library management and BoM.
6. Ensure thermal, MTBF, and component derating analysis is completed.
7. Create and review design documentation such as design logbooks, data packs, and peer reviews, in preparation for design release.
8. Work closely with PCB vendors and CEM subcontractors to negotiate design specifications.
9. Verify and validate designs, including creating test specifications, reports, and performing reliability testing in fully equipped labs.
10. Address component obsolescence issues and propose suitable alternatives.
Skills & Experience:
1. Relevant Degree (or equivalent).
2. Experience in circuit schematic, multi-layer mixed-technology layout, and manufacturing pack using Altium Designer.
3. Demonstrable experience in component-level electronic circuit design, layout, and development.
4. Awareness of high-volume surface mount processes and design for high-volume manufacturing.
5. Strong hands-on measurement and diagnostic skills using electronic and RF test equipment.
6. Ability to conduct minor SMT reworks down to 0402 component size (desirable).
7. Experience in RF/microwave electronic circuit design (desirable).
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic and innovative environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
