Job summary We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic radiographers for a band 6 diagnostic rotational radiographer post on the Sutton site. The successful candidate will rotate through the general Xray and CT departments initially and then MRI and Mammography is appropriate. .Applicants will preferably have 2 years post graduate experience .Participation on the residential x-ray/ CT on call service is expected. Post graduate radiology academic qualifications are desirable. The successful candidate should be an innovative, highly motivated radiographer with good communication skills ,who is keen to contribute positively to the expanding cross sectional service. The ideal candidates must demonstrate a commitment to professional development and show a keen interest in the future of their profession and the Diagnostic Imaging services. They will be expected to support both the service and its staff in continuing to maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging. Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their approach as the department will operate between8am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 8- 5.15 pm The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of an efficient andeffective Diagnostic Imaging Service. They will liaise with the clinicians in charge of a patient, with wardand other departmental staff within the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be required torotate between X-ray, CT and (where appropriate) mammography. While working within an oncological environmenthe post holder will be required to interact directly with terminally ill patients as well asbeing exposed at times to distressing and emotional situations. Patient presentation will include theunconscious, uncooperative, incapacitated, incompetent, distressed, disorientated, and those withphysical and mental disabilities.
