£37,035 - £37,938 (Qualified Social Worker)
The advertised salaries includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and/or working conditions of the role.
Location(s): We have a number of opportunities within both Carlisle and West Cumbria.
Hours: 37 hours per week (however hours can be negotiable)
Contract: Both Permanent and Fixed Term opportunities are available this can be discussed individually with candidates.

Following an exciting and ambitious programme of change within Adult Social Care, we have recently implemented our new services and we are looking for experienced and newly qualified Social Workers who are passionate about their professions to join our team to help us achieve our ambitions for the future in the Short-Term Interventions Team.
The Role of Short-Term Interventions
A primary role of this team is to work across the system to enhance prevention interventions and work to prevent or delay admission into formal support services. This service will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders from across the health and social care system and third sector and voluntary groups in Cumbria to ensure short term interventions (including assessment) are undertaken to ensure people are safe and supported using a strengths-based approach.
We recognize that our workforce is best placed to design and embed new ways of working to achieve a modern social care service able to deliver the best outcomes for the people of Cumbria within a financially sustainable envelope. We have invested in additional Social Work posts including the creation of a dedicated Safeguarding Team and are looking to recruit to Social Worker posts:
1. To work in a team to undertake strengths-based assessments and deliver appropriate person-centred support and outcomes for people in Cumbria with care and support needs.
2. To work in ways that promote independence, recognize potential for change, and through excellent practice, enable people to maximize their strengths.
3. To actively promote the work of Cumbria County Council internally and externally on the development and delivery of continuously improving modern and competitive services for the people of Cumbria.
