Head of Science – Academy – Luton (LU2)
A thriving Academy in Luton (LU2) is seeking an ambitious and experienced Head of Science to lead their dynamic Science department. This is a permanent, full-time role starting in September, offering a fantastic opportunity to drive innovation and academic excellence in a well-established school.
The Role:
* Providing strategic leadership for the Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
* Teaching Science across KS3-KS4 and supporting KS5 teaching where applicable.
* Developing and implementing an engaging and challenging curriculum.
* Coaching and mentoring teaching staff, fostering professional development and best practices.
* Monitoring student progress and implementing interventions to raise attainment.
* Collaborating with senior leadership on school-wide academic strategies.

The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong background in Science teaching.
* Proven experience in leading or managing within a Science department.

* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* A commitment to raising student achievement and promoting a love for Science.
