Due to growth in service, we are recruiting a Nurture LeadTeacher to join our team at Belmont SecondarySchool.
About therole
In addition to agreedresponsibilities as a member of the Middle Management Team you willundertake an active role in the leadership, management, andstrategic development of the school.
Job Purpose
* To assist the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) indeveloping the school as a high-quality specialist provision forpupils who attend the Nurture Provision.
* To uphold the ethos, aims and values of theschool, its policies, and codes of practice at alltimes.
* To help manage thestructure and organisation of the school day; in particular withinthe Nurture provision.
* Todevelop, plan and co-ordinate the development of the curriculumacross the Nurture provision through organising, managing andbriefing staff, supporting effective teaching and establishingsystems, processes and procedures to fulfil requirements andachieve results.
Theduties outlined in this job description are additional to theduties outlined for Classroom Teachers and Subject Lead andtherefore must be read in conjunction to ensure the smooth runningof the school.
The role of the Nurture Lead isto:
* To supportthe SLT in raising standards of teaching, learning and attainmentthroughout the school in line with priorities identified in theSchool Improvement/Development Plan.
* To support the SLT to ensure that the schoolmeets its statutory requirements, Inspection criteria andexpectations of parents, carers and others.
* Assist the SLT to evaluate the impact of allleadership activities relating to improving the quality of teachingand learning; ensuring all leadership tasks, and management systemswhich underpin this, are carried out effectively, on time and in amanner which is clearly understood by allstaff.
* Actively work withthe SLT to contribute to the overall schoolself-evaluation.
* To workclosely with the SEND team and colleagues in the strategicdevelopment of the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) &Inclusion policies to ensure pupils make the relevant progress inall areas including their EHCP targets.
* To act as an exemplary role model in all theprofessional duties expected of a teacher andleader.
* To perform, inaccordance with any directions which may reasonably be given by theSLT from time to time, such particular duties as may reasonably beassigned.
* Display levels ofpersonal behaviour, which will provide an appropriate model for thepupils and ensure the effective management of pupil behaviour bythe use of de-escalation strategies and physical restrainttechniques in accordance with schoolguidelines.
* Comply withprofessional codes of practice and standards.
