We have an exciting opportunity to recruit to a Head of Finance role leading a financial management team supporting operational managers to effectively contribute to the financial management of NHS Highland.
This key role will:
* Contribute to the management of NHS Highland through the application of an agreed financial planning framework which supports delivery of NHS Highland’s strategic ambitions.
* Plan, lead and support a Business Partnering Team to provide reliable financial information and analysis for management, planning and control purposes fulfilling statutory and regulatory responsibilities.
* Provide strong, credible leadership to large scale programmes of change, demonstrating how quality improvement is linked to the delivery of financial balance in support of improved patient care.
* Actively participate in senior leadership team discussions; challenging and influencing the decision making process, strategy and outcomes, supporting delivery of financial balance linked to excellent patient care.
* Provide high quality financial support including standard and bespoke information to inform decision-making to allow effective and efficient management, allocation and application of resources.
* Provide added value financial reporting to drive performance, challenge and advise the organisation.
Flexible working arrangements are in place and the team currently work in a hybrid manner splitting the working week across home and office.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
