Full Time, Permanent positions available
Bristol City Council's Housing Options Service has several vacancies available for Housing Advisors to work within the Homelessness Prevention Team.
The team are specialists in working with families and single people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, to ensure early intervention, prevention, and to assist households in finding solutions to their housing problems.
Key responsibilities:
1. Work face to face with citizens to identify issues and steps to prevent homelessness.
2. Liaise with a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies, maintaining regular communication with their representatives.
3. Promote and provide authoritative advice and assistance on homelessness prevention and a range of housing solutions.
4. Advise landlords and tenants regarding their statutory rights.
Skills and requirements:
1. Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and mediation.
2. Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation.
3. Problem-solving abilities and strong written communication skills.
4. Ability to present information in a clear, legible, and logical manner.
5. Strong conciliation skills to facilitate understanding between groups with potentially conflicting objectives.
Some of these posts may involve working in specialist areas, which will be discussed further at the interview stage.
