Salary = £21,000 – £23,000 per annum – 3 Month Fixed Term Contract

Based in Manchester, we are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant on a temporary basis to join our friendly purchasing team. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for the ordering of components in line with the build requirements, the expediting of existing orders, and the support of the Purchasing Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Review Requisitions/MRP and consolidate where possible
2. Obtain quotations from approved suppliers
3. Timely conversion of requisitions to Purchase orders
4. Gain order acknowledgements and expedite to project requirements
5. Highlight any concerns to the Purchasing Manager regarding part supply
6. Identify and materialise savings
7. Liaise with Planning and Design regarding part issues
8. Work with Quality Engineers to resolve issues and return materials to vendor
9. Assist Purchasing Manager with strategic projects/tasks
10. Work within the larger purchasing department for joint projects/strategies
Key Requirements
1. Experience in purchasing is preferred but not essential
2. Excellent administration skills
3. Confident in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel is a must)
4. Good communication skills with all levels of authority
5. Able to consider multiple issues to gain the best solution
6. Excellent attention to detail
7. Confident in their own skills
8. Ability to achieve UK security clearance is essential
