A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE PLACEMENT
Commercial, Rights & Business Affairs (CRBA)
Commercial, Rights & Business Affairs (CRBA) Commissioning & Acquisition is at the heart of the BBC. We work with programme commissioners, finance, editorial policy, legal, delivery, audiences and other CRBA teams across television and audio to deliver programming for radio, linear television, BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer. We work with external independent production companies and BBC Studios to agree funding and contracts to deliver programming across all scripted content (drama, comedy and children's) and all unscripted content (documentaries, arts, music, current affairs, specialist factual, factual entertainment, entertainment and daytime programming) - for network and for the nations. All areas are incredibly busy.
We help manage multiple programmes all at different stages of the development, commissioning and delivery timeline - and the best bit - we get to see our efforts broadcast and see how they connect with our audiences. You will be fully immersed in this environment supporting the business affairs team's day to day who manage multiple projects, and we are always looking for opportunities to identify and seek to simplify our processes and/or make them more consistent and there may be further opportunities to be involved. If you like television, podcasts - content! - then you will enjoy seeing and learning how programmes go from an idea through to broadcast - and the more proactive you are the more you will get out of the seat.
