About the role
An opportunity has become available in the team within the IT Infrastructure Products department for a Technical Service Owner. The team is dedicated to maintaining the stability of our IT services.
Reporting to the IT Technical Manager, the Technical Services Owner will be responsible for a range of duties. These include providing technical support for projects and resolving P1, P2, and P3 incidents. The role also involves reviewing and approving change requests related to the NFUM IT estate, assessing their potential impact, and distributing detailed reviews to the relevant resources and stakeholders.
Additionally, you'll act as a representative at the Change Advisory Board (CAB), which is responsible for evaluating, prioritizing, approving, and rejecting changes to the NFUM IT infrastructure. Collaboration with external IT partners and vendors to drive service improvements is also a key aspect of the role. Furthermore, the Technical Service Owner will provide support and coaching to colleagues within IT and across the business.
About you
As a Technical Service Owner, you'll ensure the stability and integrity of our production IT services. You will have extensive experience in supporting, deploying and improving technical infrastructure. You will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and be able to effectively prioritise your workload. As you'll be resolving major IT incidents, problem-solving skills are essential within a customer-focused IT environment. You'll take ownership of issues and tasks and see through to successful completion.
You'll also be or have:
* Working and demonstrable knowledge and experience of IT infrastructure and server-based applications (essential)
* In depth knowledge of either Wintel / Linux servers (essential)
* Demonstrable working experience of Storage and Virtualisation (essential)
* Exposure to cloud technologies (essential)
* Knowledge of Backup technology, SQL / Oracle Database (desirable)
Knowledge of governance or architectural practices and working within in a regulated industry would be advantages.
