Responsibilities
1. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
2. Ensure compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS) and company policies.
3. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
4. Develop and maintain financial controls to safeguard company assets.
5. Work with external auditors to meet UK statutory audit requirements.
6. Prepare and monitor the company’s annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
7. Oversee HMRC reporting requirements, including VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax, and National Insurance.
8. Manage tax planning, ensuring adherence to UK tax legislation and identifying opportunities for R&D tax credits and capital allowances.
9. Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, financial reporting standards, and internal policies.
10. Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure operational efficiency.
11. Optimize working capital and investment strategies.
12. Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance.
13. Manage auto-enrolment pension schemes as per The Pensions Regulator and oversee UK payroll processes, ensuring compliance with UK employment tax laws.
14. Manage compliance with Companies House filing requirements.
15. Work closely with senior management to provide financial guidance and support business growth.
Qualifications
1. ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification required.
2. Minimum 7+ years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
3. Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations, taxation, and reporting standards.
4. Proficiency in UK accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or NetSuite.
5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
