ICT is a popular subject across KS3- KS5 also offering Computer Science at KS4 - KS5, where students have achieved high levels of success.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher to join a fully committed, mutually supportive and forward looking department in our 11-18 school. Thomas Adams has a strong reputation and is regularly oversubscribed.
The ICT department is very successful across all Key Stages, and Computer Science is very popular at GCSE and A Level. Our priority will always be to appoint an outstanding practitioner in the classroom and a willingness to be part of a team and to contribute to the overall benefit of the students is essential. The teaching of ICT takes place in well-resourced department, supported by an experienced technician team.
The following subject is in addition to any statutory requirements and responsibilities of a Main Scale Teacher:
The post holder is expected to:
* Promote the highest standards of teaching ICT and Computer Science within the framework of the school and share ideas to promote the best practice within the Department.
* Ensure high standards of discipline and organisation within a school environment.
* Demonstrate high standards of ICT competence in teaching and learning, and develop these as technologies change.
* Computer Science is a popular subject at Thomas Adams school and experience or ability to teach this is essential.
* Ensure the smooth running of internal and external controlled assessments
* Ensure that Departmental records and information are regularly updated, and keep informative records of students’ progress.
* In partnership with other members of the Department, deliver Consultation Evenings for parents and carers.
* Keep the marking of students’ work up to date and maintain a record of students’ marks.
* Attend relevant meetings and whole school CPD.
* Deal effectively with behaviour, attendance and punctuality issues
* To ensure the safeguarding of students, and support their well-being at all times, utilising the pastoral system effectively
