Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated journalist with experience in business-to-business media to join our Forecourt Trader team. Forecourt Trader is the leading media and events brand for forecourt and forecourt retail professionals, providing essential news, feature, analysis and events for this fast-paced sector.
Supporting the editor in producing agenda-setting news, features and analysis, contributing towards events, including sourcing speakers and presenting where necessary, the successful candidate will be an ambassador for the Forecourt Trader brand and the sector it represents.
The industry is going through one of the most exciting periods in its history, with the transition to electric vehicles and sustainable fuels, as well as technologies such as AI, changing the way forecourts interact with motorists. This role provides the opportunity to help chart that revolution.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Producing both news stories and longer form content (features, analysis, video or audio).
2. Supporting the editor with the brand’s wider content and digital strategy.
3. Curating newsletters, scheduling social posts and utilising reader data to generate the most relevant content for Forecourt Trader readers.
4. Attending industry events and reporting on the content for the Forecourt Trader community.
Requirements
1. Strong news gathering and writing skills to write daily news for the website with fast, accurate and engaging reporting.
2. Networking skills to establish relationships in the industry by building contacts F2F and remotely.
3. Ability to work across news, features, analysis, video, audio and occasionally events.
4. An understanding of analytics to spot and develop content opportunities.
