Main duties of the job
The initial priority of the role will be to lead the ambitious rollout of the Trust's recently implemented state of the art Genesis inventory management system.
With this in mind, we're looking for someone with:
* Significant experience in supply chain management, preferably within a large, complex organisation.
* Proven ability to lead change and manage large-scale projects.
* Strong understanding of NHS procurement and supply chain processes, with experience in using data to drive improvements.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments.
* Passion for driving innovation and improving patient outcomes through operational excellence.
Job responsibilities
* To support the development of the Trust's Supply Chain strategy.
* To provide a resource to review the existing Inventory Management and end-to-end Supply Chain service which provides medical/non-medical and surgical consumables to user departments across all NuTH sites aimed at promoting efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
* To contribute to the development and implementation of Scan4Safety.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* Degree level education supplemented by relevant post graduate study to Master's level or equivalent experience.
* Membership and/or qualification from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and/or Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or similar.
Knowledge & Experience
* Successful track record at a senior management level in a complex environment.
* Operational experience at a senior level within a supply chain and logistics environment.
* Understanding and previous experience of implementing and/or using an inventory management system.
* Sound theoretical and practical understanding of project management processes, procedures and skills.
* Demonstrable experience of Service Change, Delivery of Performance Targets & Business Planning.
* Evidence of working with multiple systems and database environments including financial.
* Experience in the eProcurement systems.
* Experience in the use of Inventory Management systems.
* Comprehensive understanding of the Lord Carter report and the implications of its recommendations to an NHS Procurement directorate.
* An understanding of the National Operating Model and NCP programme and the impact of them on procurement in the NHS.
* An understanding of the NHS Scan4Safety programme.
* Experience in the use of Oracle SSP.
* Experience in the use of Genesis Inventory Management system.
* Experience in the use of NHS Supply Chain eDC/eDC Gold.
Skills & Abilities
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects to tight deadlines.
* Excellent IT skills and understanding of integration and exploitation.
