If you are an experienced Healthcare Assistant with a passion for making the patient journey as comfortable as possible we have just the role for you.
Working as a Health Care Assistant at Practice Plus Group Gillingham, you’ll provide support to the nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a high standard of care to patients in a safe and caring environment.
Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard, but also fun and rewarding.
This role is 37.5 hours per week, shifts are as follows: Monday - Saturday which will consist of 3 x 9.5 hour days 1 x 9 hour day with rotational 11:00am - 21:00pm shifts on a Tuesday.

What you'll be doing
As a Ward Health Care Assistant in our Shepton Mallet Ward team you’ll be responsible for welcoming/greeting patients to the ward area. You will answer the telephone, recording and delivering messages accurately and to the appropriate person, assist in the ordering and monitoring of stores and stock rotation, and support other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
In the Clinical side you will also be assisting in the making of beds, handling of bed linen and disposal of used linen, aiding in the infection control of the department/treatment centre, accurately monitor and record the weight, pulse, temperature and blood pressure of patients and ensuring any abnormalities or changes in patients conditions are reported immediately to a Registered Nurse, and assisting with the moving and handling of patients ensuring the use of aids and equipment.
What we’ll look for in you
We are looking for someone who is willing to work hard, learn and develop in the role, but most importantly someone who understands the value of teamwork and a good work ethic.
The ideal applicant will have
* You will have an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and be willing to undertake training to gain further clinical skills.
* Experience or a good understanding of HCA duties and responsibilities
* The ability to receive and communicate information accurately and take instruction from professional colleagues.
* The flexibility to fit into internal rotating shift pattern
