We are in an exciting position to offer an opportunity for a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our Children's Therapy team. If you are a Physiotherapist dedicated to supporting children and their families to reach patient-centred goals, working alongside a wide MDT including Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language therapy, Nursing, Community Paediatrics, Social Care, and Voluntary organisations, then this is the post for you.
The postholder will join a dynamic, innovative, and supportive service that offers a variety of areas of specialism: paediatric MSK, early years, school age, special schools, CPIP, respiratory, and neonatal services to children and families across Coventry.
Responsibilities include:
1. Effectively managing a caseload of clients with health and physiotherapy needs based on the nature, complexity, and urgency of each individual case.
2. Planning and providing physiotherapy in consultation with other colleagues and working in a range of settings as appropriate (e.g. clients' home, school, health centre).
3. Adopting a family-centred or client-centred approach to therapy, collaborating with clients (and/or carer(s) where appropriate) in all aspects of the therapy process (assessment, planning, evaluation, reporting).
4. Selecting and conducting specific specialist physiotherapy assessments, addressing the physical needs of clients.
5. Respecting the dignity and preferences of clients and obtaining written consent to therapy in accordance with departmental and trust guidance.
6. Applying profession-specific treatment approaches and effective clinical reasoning skills to therapy (e.g. neurodevelopmental, Bobath).
7. Utilising individual and/or group work skills as appropriate in order to achieve agreed therapeutic goals.
8. Monitoring, evaluating, and modifying therapy using appropriate physiotherapy outcome measures to ensure effectiveness and demonstrate efficacy of therapy.
