Job summary
We are looking for a registered Pharmacy Technician to be a part of the Homecare team. The Trust has an excellent reputation for delivering Rheumatology and Metabolic Bone Services to the whole of Shropshire and neighbouring counties in England and Wales and the Pharmacy Homecare Service supports over 2,300 patients. You will work closely alongside a team of experienced technical, professional and homecare administration staff to maintain and develop a high standard of Medicines Homecare to patients with often long term and complex conditions who receive their medication at home.

Main duties of the job
You must be a qualified pharmacy technician and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Have excellent organisational skills and the desire to provide a high quality, safe, effective and efficient service to our patients. You must be able to work under pressure, prioritise work and be able to work alone as well as part of a team. You will also supervise and manage other members of the team. The role ensures that RJAH homecare services are of a consistently high quality and in line with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Homecare Standards and local policy and procedures.
The role will work closely with the Trust Finance Team and our partners across the ICS to ensure that medicines are appropriately invoiced to the correct commissioners and the Trust adheres to the Best Value Medicines principles. The post holder will lead on establishing reporting mechanisms to ensure good financial governance and oversight.
The role also includes a regular operational commitment in order to maintain competencies and demonstrate fitness to practice as a registered pharmacy technician. You'll need to be able to work over 7 days of the week, hours of work as required. The department offers a weekend and bank holiday service which you will be expected to participate in.

JOB SUMMARY
2. Work with the Homecare Pharmacist and Senior Pharmacy Technician for Homecare and High-Cost Medicines and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver a quality homecare service.
3. To provide a variety of pharmacy support duties to the dispensary involving labelling, assembling, preparing and dispensing medicines, stock control, dispensing of controlled drugs and receipt of prescriptions.
4. Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of requests for pharmaceutical products across the Trust by dispensing and issuing for prescriptions, signed orders and controlled drugs orders.
5. Always ensure patient confidentiality
6. Participate in the dispensary rota and provide cover during busy times where appropriate.

Essential
7. GCSE Maths and English (grade C or above) or equivalent.
8. National BTEC or NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent).
9. Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
10. National Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification or be willing and eligible to undertake National Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification

12. Experience of working as a pharmacy technician or pre-registration pharmacy technician in primary, secondary or community pharmacy

15. Recent and in-depth post qualification experience of working within a hospital pharmacy department as a Pharmacy Technician.
