About the team
Our Developer Services team provides the statutory services that enable Domestic and Commercial development connection to our core Water Supply and Waste Water services.
The team offers advice and technical guidance on water supply and drainage issues for new housing estates and commercial areas. Developer Services work closely with planning liaison and operations to identify capacity constraints and agree points of connection, and they safeguard our existing assets by checking and approving sewer build over, build near and diversion proposals.
What you'll do
1. Assessment of developer design submissions for drainage networks associated with new housing and commercial development.
2. Analysing existing network capacity and identifying solutions to provide additional network capacity to accommodate new development.
3. Designing drainage solutions for new developments, inspecting and approving installation works on site.
4. Liaising with developers, planning authorities, and other network and catchment partners to ensure cost-effective solutions.
5. Ensuring efficient and environmentally beneficial solutions are identified, designed, and delivered.

Where you'll work
The central team is in our Bath office, but this role will be based in Poole and will comprise a mix of office-based work and travelling to Wessex Water sites throughout the calendar year. As an apprentice, you will initially be working under the supervision of an experienced team member, progressing towards autonomous working as you develop in your role and apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications you'll gain: Civil Engineering Technician Level 3.
