Rotational Occupational Therapist, Band 6

We are delighted to offer a new exciting opportunity for Band 6 OT staff to rotate within our acute Inpatient Therapy service. This role is ideal for an OT looking to develop their skills at band 6 level while gaining experience in a variety of clinical areas:
1. Stroke
2. Care of the Elderly
Each rotation will last between 9-12 months, with the possibility of further specialty rotations over time.
You will be supported to identify objectives for the rotation through a robust appraisal process and will develop both your clinical and leadership skills during each rotation. Our dedicated therapy Research and Development team supports staff with preceptorship programmes, peer groups, student placement delivery, and participation in audits and research trials.
Main Duties of the Job
1. The post holder assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the clinical area in the absence of the team leader.
2. The post holder is supervised by a named therapist, who may not be present at all times. Clinical and professional supervision includes regular clinical reasoning sessions, observed practice, peer review, and formal training.
3. The post holder will collaborate with the Band 7 clinical lead therapist to support resource management within budget. Responsibilities include the supervision and appraisal of junior therapists, support workers, and undergraduates, with assistance from the Band 7.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council
Experience
* Experience of working in the NHS in the UK
* Experience of supervising, appraising, and providing education/training to others
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
* Deliver a high level of skill in assessment and management of complex patients.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal, and written when interacting with patients/carers, other team members, and the MDT.
* Knowledge of and ability to apply evidence-based practice, including national guidelines to deliver, evaluate, and audit the service.
* Demonstrate the ability to network with other professionals and establish close working relations.
* Work flexibly in response to the changing demands of the service and manage changes in service delivery for self and others.
* Car Driver
* Understand the principles of physiotherapy as well as occupational therapy to contribute to the development of an integrated therapy service.
Qualities
* Work effectively as a team member within the multidisciplinary team.
* Maintain judgement under pressure while effectively managing own and others' time.
