Endoscopy Inpatient Waiting List Co-ordinator
To work as part of a clerical team to support a defined team of Clinicians at Northampton General Hospital & Danetre Hospital.
General Medicine is looking for a full-time Inpatient Co-ordinator within our Endoscopy department. The position is 37.5 hours per week, including weekends. Working within a small dynamic team, we welcome someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment with a positive, can-do attitude.

Main Duties of the Job
1. Ensure that the correct administration procedures are followed and all relevant letters, prep, and related information required for the department are sent out in a timely manner (e.g., confirmation letters).
2. Manage and record all patients who need to have a pre-op check before their procedures.
3. Liaise with the Unit Manager to assist with booking inpatients at Northampton General Hospital.
4. Deal with enquiries on behalf of the Clinical Teams via telephone, personal contact, or correspondence, within agreed limits and take appropriate action to ensure documentation is available.
5. Assist with the effective management of patient pathways, ensuring that all necessary appointments, including inpatients, lists, and waiting lists, are organized in an appropriate timeframe.
6. Ensure that lists are utilized to capacity, diagnostics and tests are processed as requested, and that patients receive timely treatment, thus meeting Trust and national standards.
7. Assist with the coordination of lists to ensure effective time management.
8. Maintain relevant databases and patient information systems.
9. Provide general administrative services including photocopying, filing, faxing, and other office routines.
10. Ensure all correspondence and documentation is filed promptly and cross-referenced whenever necessary.

Education, Training and Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and Experience
* Knowledge of a range of administration duties and procedures.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Courteous, tactful, and efficient telephone manner.
* Proficient in Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Experience of database systems.
* Experience of working in a busy office environment.
* Analytical and judgement skills for problem-solving.
* Ability to work well as part of a team.
* Experience of working in the NHS.
