This role would suit someone completing their FY2 and wanting to go onto a paid FY3 to broaden their experience and help with deciding the best route for their career. The role will provide great experience within teaching and potential support to undertake a funded Pg.Cert. in Medical Education.
You will work with industry experts in psychiatry and education who are passionate about passing on their knowledge and developing others, within a newly refurbished academic centre set in over 150 acres of beautiful woodlands, including a gym, swimming pool, café, and garden centre.

The Role and Person
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Teaching Fellow in Medical Education. These posts provide rich opportunities to develop interests and expertise in medical education while broadening clinical experience in a specialist mental health setting.
In the coming year, the Academic Department will support over 500 student placements across medicine, nursing, health, and social care, with considerable opportunities for clinical teaching and educational activity.
The Clinical Teaching Fellowships are tailored to interests and career intentions:
1. Four sessions are protected for educational activity, involving facilitating the educational experience of third-year students from the University of Buckingham, preparing and teaching workshops, assessing case presentations, and offering pastoral support.
2. Six sessions for clinical activity as a Ward Doctor on various wards at St Andrew's Northampton site, providing experience similar to a core trainee.
3. One day per week will focus on clinical teaching with students on the wards, while another day will facilitate small group workshops in the Academic Department. Study leave will be available for contact days for the PGCert course.
