Job Description
The Contract Manager for Utilities and Energy is not a typical Procurement role. You will be accountable for the end-to-end procurement process for purchasing energy and utilities at Heathrow Airport. This is an exciting time to join the team, as work through the changes required to ensure we meet our energy transition and Heathrow's 2.0 sustainability strategy targets.
This will involve working closely with business stakeholders to execute short and long-term procurement strategies for the Energy and Utilities categories which will best position Heathrow to maximise value delivery, minimise risk and deliver the agreed benefits of the category through cost saving, revenue generation and/or improved Airport operations.
Responsibilities
1. Managing multiple concurrent projects and sourcing activity for large value, highly technical and complex spend areas in a fast-paced dynamic business critical category.
2. Making decisions on when to buy energy through the markets and being able to demonstrate value in your decision making to both internal and external stakeholders.
3. Owning end-to-end procurement processes including analysis, researching and assessment of market best practice, options generation, creation of pre-contract strategies, sourcing, project planning and management of implementation and delivery of category strategy including total cost of ownership, value creation and ongoing supplier relationship management, including supplier sustainability performance.
4. Collaborating, influencing and championing close stakeholder relationships to drive governance through the SRM process. Proactively engage teams, peers, leaders and stakeholders across the business to align to both procurement strategy and governance for delivery of business objectives.
5. Engaging as necessary with the external market for procurement matters e.g. new commercial models, market shifts, new product offerings, innovation and trends; bring back best practices and lead initiatives to embed them within the operations.
Qualifications
1. Good understanding of the Energy markets, terminology and energy supply contracts and UK energy infrastructure, working in a similar role trading Energy.
2. Evidence of working with Power Purchase agreements.
3. Demonstrable experience in influencing peers and stakeholders.
4. End to end procurement experience, including supplier relationship management.
Ideally you'll also have:
1. Professional qualifications e.g. MRICS, CIPS, APM, CEng.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
