Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly Finance team and help to deliver an excellent finance service to the Faculty of Law. The role is pivotal in supporting the activities of the Law Faculty as they develop and expand. The Faculty currently has a turnover of approximately £24m. The postholder will have management oversight of the transactional finance operation and will support the Head of Finance to prepare and deliver on all of the financial planning and reporting activities of the Faculty. The Deputy Finance Manager will take a lead in budgeting, forecasting and monitoring for a number of discreet Faculty courses, centres and activities. The postholder will also champion compliance with University procedures and be responsible for initiatives to promote awareness of, and compliance with, financial assurance policies. The Deputy Finance Manager will report to the Law Faculty Head of Finance. They will line manage one finance assistant, with the potential to line manage others, and work closely with the Head of Administration & Finance; the Dean, and other Faculty Officers; and maintain close links with the finance staff in the Social Sciences Division. This is full time, fixed term post arising from the maternity leave of the current postholder. The role is available from 16 June 2025 until 17 June 2026 or the actual return of the substantive postholder, or the resignation of the substantive postholder and employment of a new postholder, whichever is the earliest. The Law Faculty supports hybrid working, and currently requires staff to be on site at least 40% of their working week and the postholder will be based in the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL.
