Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5pm
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background within Telecoms. This role requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to supervise cross-functional teams effectively.
The role of the Project Manager is to lead field & back-office resource to ensure targets are achieved throughout the lifecycle of the project. The project manager will focus on Stakeholder relationships, Commercials & overall performance of the project while at the same time providing a road map for the Assistant Manager to gain the knowledge & experience required to become a competent Project Manager for future projects.
Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Execution:
1. Develop and implement Fibre build programme which includes surveying, build and handover to our partners.
2. Prepare project schedules, including tasks, resources, timelines, and milestones.
3. Forecast & exceed set Total Homes Passed (THP) quarterly & annual delivery targets.
4. Ensure sufficient office & field resource is in place to meet & exceed set targets.
5. Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure successful project completion.
2. Technical Oversight:
1. Perform Fibre programme assessments to determine project feasibility and requirements.
2. Oversee the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of fibre optic systems.
3. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
4. Management of defects, while identifying and addressing trends.
3. Budget and Resource Management:
1. Develop and manage project budgets to control expenses. Work closely with the project & commercial teams to ensure all activities are invoiced correctly & on time.
2. Ensure resource availability and allocation.
3. Responsible for chasing up all incomplete works; prioritising and rectifying accordingly. This will then need to be verified before sign-off by the client.
4. Communication and Reporting:
1. Maintain documentation of project activities, including reports, drawings, and specifications.
2. Build and maintain close & professional working relationships with our partners.
3. Communicate project status to stakeholders and provide regular updates.
4. Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers.
5. Liaise closely with the office and field delivery teams to identify any potential design or construction issues.
5. Risk Management:
1. Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks.
2. Address potential issues and resolve problems throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Overall responsibility for all site works, methodology, and programme including resource requirement from both existing workforce and from sub-contractors.
4. Ensure all civils activities have recorded & submitted registration details in line with HA requirements.
5. Work closely with various departments within MJ Quinn to ensure all SLA’s and targets are communicated clearly and achieved efficiently.
6. Carry out regular audits of staff performance and quality of work to ensure the highest standard of service and workmanship is being achieved.
7. Where applicable ensure that CDM projects are delivered in line with CDM requirements.
Essential requirements:
1. Strong understanding of fibre optic technology and installation practices.
2. Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and coordination.
3. Strong leadership and communication skills.
4. Experience of running large scale Fibre projects across multiple sites & councils.
5. Ability to lead and inspire a team of people.
6. Proficient knowledge of Fibre PON build specifications.
7. Have strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.
8. Enjoy a challenge, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
9. A legal right to work in the UK.
10. Extensive experience of engaging with Local Authorities.
11. Previous experience of dealing with FPNs, defects / associated commercial management.
12. Computer literate.
13. Have a high standard of numeracy.
14. Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
15. Have the ability to prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage business expectations.
Desirable:
1. Expert knowledge of NRSWA (Ops & Supervisor) SROH & HAUC guidelines.
2. Proficient knowledge of CDM (Construction Design Management) – trained to SMSTS level.
3. Good experience of noticing systems.
4. Proficient knowledge of reinstatement guidelines & techniques.
5. Good understanding of Traffic Management guidelines for utility works in the Highway.
6. Experience of reporting into director level (internal and external i.e. partners/clients).
7. Familiarity with project management methodologies and software is a plus.
