One of the UK's leading consultancies is looking for a SAP PI Team Lead to join their fast-growing SAP Delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SAP PI/PO Consultant to take on a leadership role, drive integration solutions, and work on some of the largest and most complex SAP programmes in the UK.
You’ll work across SAP and non-SAP systems, leading integration design and delivery, while managing a small team of developers and taking technical ownership across multiple projects. This role is with a prestigious public sector client.
As a SAP PI Team Lead, you will:
1. Lead the delivery of SAP PI/PO integrations, including SOAP and REST API developments.
2. Design and build integration solutions using ABAP proxies, IDOCs, RFCs, and a range of adapters (File, JDBC, etc.).
3. Manage and mentor a team of developers, ensuring best practices in integration design and development.
4. Collaborate with functional consultants, testers, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business requirements.
5. Support defect resolution, system improvements, and provide technical escalation support.
6. Drive process improvements, quality compliance, and contribute to technical standards and documentation.
7. Manage risks, issues, and ensure deliverables are completed within time, cost, and quality targets.
The ideal SAP PI Team Lead will have:
1. Extensive hands-on experience with SAP PI/PO (7.3+) and SAP ABAP R/3 development.
2. Strong background in integration development using SOAP, REST APIs, and OpenAPI Specifications (OAS).
3. Experience with PI Interface Design, ABAP Proxy Development, and User-Defined Java Functions.
4. Knowledge across SAP modules such as TRM, PSCD, CRM, FI, and HR (desirable).
5. Good understanding of UNIX, WebMethods, Microsoft Office, and SAP CTS+ tools.
6. Strong leadership skills, capable of leading a small technical team.
7. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
8. Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and apply new technologies.
This SAP PI Team Lead position requires full right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
If you’re an experienced SAP PI Consultant ready to step up into a leadership position, or an established Team Lead seeking a bigger platform for growth and challenge, this is the opportunity for you.
