The Role
Modelling & analysing catastrophe exposure is an exciting and rapidly expanding area of our business. The position is for a Natural Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join the Global Markets P&C and Facultative analytics team to support modelling and service offering development globally.
The team work closely with Insurance Brokers in London offering a wide range of analytical services
including data management, catastrophe modelling, exposure management and
bespoke analytics. Our services are specifically focused to understand & quantify risk from natural
and man-made perils such as windstorm, earthquake, flood and terrorism.
Day-to-day, you will be involved in processing and auditing client data, running client portfolios
against state-of-the-art internal and external computer models and synthesising the results. In addition, you should have the ability to effectively communicate technical detail internally and to external clients who do not necessarily have technical knowledge of the subject. We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and self-motivated team player.
Principle Duties
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, with a proven track record in the insurance market and experience in catastrophe risk analysis with the following responsibilities:
1. Managing, auditing, processing and analysing clients’ insurance portfolio data
2. Preparation and formatting of data for modelling
3. Quantify the catastrophe risk to client portfolios using vendor catastrophe models
4. Operation of geo-visualisation tools including Arc GIS
5. Contribute to the Global Fac Analytics service offering development
6. Understand and evaluate the impact of updates and revisions to models and the outputs produced
7. Communicate results effectively to all stakeholders (. cat modellers / brokers / clients/ reinsurers)
8. Work closely with all stakeholders throughout all aspects of the risk quantification process
9. Real-time reporting and analysis of natural disasters and supporting clients post-event
10. Support junior members in the team through training and advice.
