Description Why we need your help: The Wellbeing and Support Hub provides a range of day activities for patients, families and carers which would not be possible without the support of our volunteers. We are looking for friendly volunteers who enjoy helping to deliver activities to support staff and volunteers within the Wellbeing and Support Hub. You will volunteer alongside an Activity Facilitator and provide a welcoming environment for visitors and patients. Activities you could be supporting patients to get involved in include gardening, movement workshops and creative activities. What we need you to do: Provide a warm welcome and chat to patients and carers Make drinks and serve lunch when required Assist the Activity Facilitator in preparing and taking Activity Groups Encourage patients to join in with activities Keep the day room tidy Help with other related tasks when necessary What skills or experience do you need: A friendly and sensitive approach Inclusive and respectful values The ability to work well in a team Reliability and a commitment to high standards of service An understanding of the needs of those affected by end-of-life care An understanding of the importance of confidentiality Willingness to operate within the boundaries of the role What we can offer you An excellent opportunity to build on your skills in a charity environment An induction, training, support and supervision in your role Agreed reasonable out-of-pocket expenses Access to other volunteering opportunities within Marie Curie Continuous personal development What we ask of you To provide two references from non-family members and other relevant documents related to the role To keep to all the charity’s policies and guidelines To complete an induction and any training related to the role About Marie Curie: Every day of your life matters – from the first to the last.
