About the Role
A leading specialist school in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a compassionate and motivated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with additional needs. Key Responsibilities
1. Personalized Support: Provide dedicated 1:1 assistance to a student with special educational needs (SEN), adapting your approach to suit their individual requirements.

3. Holistic Development: Support the student’s emotional, social, and academic growth through positive and patient interactions.
4. Engagement Strategies: Facilitate participation in class activities by modifying materials and teaching methods to enhance engagement.
5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to the student’s progress.
6. Progress Monitoring: Keep detailed records of the student’s development, contributing to reviews and updates of their learning plan.
7. Safe Environment: Promote a safe, supportive atmosphere in line with the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies.
About You
1. Proven experience working with children with SEN in a school or related setting.
2. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
4. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children.
5. Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certification or equivalent.
6. Experience supporting children with specific needs, such as Autism, ADHD, or sensory impairments.
7. Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management techniques.
