Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for Resident Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service. The DCS Field Service Technician Resident performs service in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will be in close cooperation with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point while delivering quality service. The work model for the role is: onsite. This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries division. You will be mainly accountable for:
1. Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points.
2. Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
3. Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
4. Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
Qualifications for the role
* Associate degree desired or comparable military technical training and minimum 5 years of relevant experience or a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments will be considered.
* A good working knowledge of Microsoft, networking, cyber security, and ABB 800xA and MOD 300 Distributed Control Systems is a plus. NOTE: Formal training, on-the-job training, and mentorship will be provided to instill confidence in providing outstanding field service support.
* Process automation work experience. Understanding of systems maintenance, configuration, and process control is ideal.
* Applicants must speak fluent English and have a legal driver's license.
* Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
