Job Overview
Trafford Elective Surgical Hub (TESH) is a newly established service aimed to increase surgical capacity, whilst focusing on embracing the HPL programme to help reduce the backlog of patients waiting for planning operations.
We are a busy elective hub which provides a variety of specialties namely: General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), Adult and Paediatric Dental, Urology, Breast, Plastics, Vascular Access and Gender Affirmation Surgery. Theatres are now in the planning process for Robotic surgeries to start in this financial year.
We have nine theatres in total and are located in three areas with their own recovery area. Two more theatres are under construction to expand our services. We are closely linked with Ward 12, the surgical admission unit, and we provide a combination of day case and inpatient care.
You'll support the Team Managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality care, and support the wider nursing team as an advocate and role model.

Main duties of the job
1. Be responsible for the assessment and delivery of care for the perioperative patient, implementing and continually evaluating their nursing care to optimize outcomes.
2. Participate in the teaching/supervision of junior staff and to participate in the teaching of students on both basic and post-basic courses.
3. Maintain personal and professional development. Participate in effective utilization of resources.
4. Act in accordance with the NMC/HCPC Professional Code of Conduct.
