Reporting directly into the Group Chief Medical Officer, the Head of Clinical Pharmacy provides strategic leadership and expert oversight of medicines management across the Medinet Group. This role ensures prescribing safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in medication-related clinical practices across all business units.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead medicines governance, prescribing safety, and medication-related risk management across the group.
* Oversee adherence to clinical formulary, prescribing guidelines, PGDs, and regulatory standards.
* Provide expert clinical input on medication-related incidents, harm assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with clinical leaders, operational teams, and business development to ensure medication safety and clinical effectiveness.
* Support digital innovation in prescribing and medicines management systems.
Essential Person Specification:
* Registered Pharmacist with extensive experience in medicines governance and prescribing safety.
* Demonstrated leadership in clinical pharmacy roles within complex healthcare settings.
* Experience managing clinical incidents, audits, and regulatory compliance related to medicines.
* Strong understanding of medicines optimisation, formulary management, and prescribing policy.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable Person Specification:
* Experience in a clinical leadership role within a private/independent CQC registered healthcare service.
* Familiarity with NHS prescribing practices, digital prescribing systems, and medicines optimisation programmes.
* Interest or proven experience in innovation and clinical system improvement initiatives.
