The Opportunity
As a McDonalds Project Manager you will get to work on a variety of strategic and exciting projects to be delivered across UK&I. As the Project Manager you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the project, from shaping the approach through to achieving the desired outcomes.
The projects you lead will vary as we believe that a good Project Manager's skills are agnostic, and you can quickly learn the subject-specific details. Whilst you will be leading the project team, project management at McDonalds also requires you to roll-up your sleeves and get stuck in.
What will my accountabilities be?
Your primary goal is to deliver the projects, within agreed timeframe, within budget and to a high standard, ensuring goals and benefits are achieved. You will therefore be responsible for:
* Defining, maintaining and managing the project plans, including the identification and scheduling of project deliverables and milestones.
* Defining funding requirements, navigating the securing of funds, and subsequently tracking delivery against budget.
* Defining resource requirements to deliver projects, being clear on roles and responsibilities, and managing the assignment of functional resources at different phases of the project (may include establishing a cross-functional team of SMEs).
* Managing the relationship and completion of deliverables by third parties as required.
* Providing leadership to the team in the delivery of the project plans, rolling up sleeves where necessary.
* Establishing and leading the governance forums required.
* Reviewing and approving key deliverables of the projects (ensuring both quality and integrity of content).
* Maintaining the RAID log and managing the Change Request process if required, removing roadblocks and escalating as appropriate.
* Creating the narrative for the projects and managing all stakeholder engagement, including corporate stakeholders, third parties, global, franchisees, P-Teams, restaurants, etc.
* Preparing regular status reports and ensuring all stakeholders are kept up to date.
* Leading regular interactions with the Sponsor to inform, alert, negotiate and maintain a continuing good relationship and shared vision for the project outcome.
* Working with global stakeholders to leverage central expertise and learnings from markets who have already adopted solutions.
As an ambassador of the Transformation Team you will also:
* Support the general upskilling and capability build of project management across the organisation, working closely with the Head of Project Delivery.
* Coach and mentor junior project managers.
* You will support the general knowledge build and understanding of the Transformation Team across the business.
What Team will I be a part of?
You will be part of the Transformation team. This hugely important team connects people across our business to focus on delivering the right projects, in the best way, to achieve our business goals. It proactively and independently challenges and innovates, working diligently to improve the way we work and deliver Transformation as a business.
Who are my customers?
Your key stakeholders are wide and varied, and include:
* UK&I Exec and Directors.
* Executive Sponsor.
* Functional/department experts.
* The wider Transformation Team.
