Salary: Band D (£31,004 - £35,705 per annum pro rata)
The Health Sciences University (HSU: formerly AECC University College) is a specialist health sciences institution dedicated to excellent education, clinical care and applied research.
We are seeking to appoint a wellbeing professional to provide triage and initial assessment, risk assessment, signposting, and advice to students experiencing mental health difficulties. The postholder will work closely with other members of the student services team to provide a holistic service and support all students to reach their potential. This post will be attractive to those with a substantial background in Mental Health and seeking an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on students, including supporting their development of self-management.
The postholder will manage a busy caseload of students, responding to those in distress. You must be confident in managing students at immediate risk of course withdrawal, self-harm, and/or suicidal behaviour, while also being able to support and advise other members of staff.
This position is based at our London campus and will work 6 hours per week over a mixture of Fridays and Saturdays (9.30 – 4.30 with 1 hour for lunch).
About the person
We are looking for a caring and empathetic individual who can manage a busy caseload. The successful candidate will have a level two counselling certificate, relevant employment experience, and knowledge of mental health in higher education. You will be comfortable managing difficult conversations and liaising with different teams, inside and outside the organisation.
