Description This is a field-based role requiring travel when required to our Depots and Fulfilment centres on the midland and the north of the UK. What you'll do You will play a crucial role in overseeing fleet compliance, uptime, and costs across multiple large sites, both in-house and with third-party logistics providers. Your responsibilities will include investigating fleet incidents, ensuring root cause analysis is conducted, managing SLAs with external suppliers, and monitoring fleet and Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) uptime to ensure compliance with operational standards. Additionally, you will lead engineering projects, develop cost-effective solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive engineering standards and efficiency improvements within the organisation. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining safe and efficient fleet operations while driving sustainable practises and compliance with legislative requirements. Who you are You are a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge of HGV fleet, Mechanical Handling Equipment, and compliance legislation, coupled with significant experience in logistics operations and engineering practises. Your sharp commercial focus, ability to identify cost savings and efficiencies, and proven track record in managing end-to-end projects demonstrate your capability to drive fleet and mechanical handling equipment operations to meet safety, legal, and operational standards. With your resilience, positive mindset, and strong stakeholder management skills, you excel in making critical decisions, influencing at senior levels, and implementing engineering solutions that optimise operational performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
