About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Responsible Individual to oversee and ensure the effective operation of our residential children's services in Maidstone. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations, children's legislation, and safeguarding requirements, while also providing strategic leadership to support and develop Registered Managers in delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the service meets and exceeds Ofsted regulatory requirements and aligns with all relevant legislation, including the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
* Provide support, coaching, and guidance to Registered Managers, ensuring they are fully equipped to lead their teams effectively.
* Oversee the safeguarding and welfare of children, ensuring a child-centred approach is consistently applied.
* Monitor and audit service performance, identifying areas for development and implementing continuous improvement plans.
* Act as the main point of contact with Ofsted and local authorities, attending inspections, meetings, and reviews as required.
* Ensure that all policies and procedures align with best practices and legal frameworks.
* Work closely with senior leadership teams to drive forward the strategic vision and development of the service.
Essential Requirements:
* Must have previous experience working as a Responsible Individual in a residential childcare setting.
* Hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* In-depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements, children's legislation, and safeguarding policies.
* Strong experience in developing and mentoring Registered Managers and staff teams.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work on-site at least three days per week and travel as required.
