Full-time, permanent, term time only
Parkview Academy is experiencing an exciting time as we are growing both in the number of pupils and in our positive reputation. Our school provides continuity in learning for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans. We are a short- to long-term provision for up to 40 learners who are on the autistic spectrum or who have other special educational needs and challenging behaviour. We cater for young people aged between 7 and 19.
The overarching purpose of our provision is to work with young people so that they are able to overcome the barriers to learning that they have previously encountered. We aim to offer flexible, structured and supportive needs-led approaches with the goal of working towards re-integration progression to a long-term educational setting or into employment, education and training.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants to work as part of a team in supporting and guiding learners with special educational needs and challenging behaviour in both individual and small-group learning sessions.
The post-holder may work with primary, secondary or post-16 learners to support and assist them in establishing good attendance, positive relationships, routine, trust and respect and support teaching and learning with the school.
