The East Sussex Diabetic Eye Screening Programme has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individual to take on a role in Diabetic Eye Screening as a Failsafe Officer/Trainee diabetic eye screener. The role will be predominantly acting as a failsafe officer, and once trained be able to provide ad hoc clinical cover as a diabetic eye screener.
Main duties of the job
The role involves the management and implementation of a robust failsafe system to ensure all people with diabetes receive diabetic eye screening and engaging with hard to reach cohorts of patients to encourage attendance. Attention to detail is essential and the ability to work to a deadline and work independently using initiative is crucial as you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients are following the correct pathways designated by the national Diabetic Eye Screening Programme, you will be required to complete and pass a administrative competencies in health screening course. The post holder will also be trained as a diabetic eye screener, this is a clinical element to the role and there is a requirement for completion of level 3 Diploma in Health Screening.
